Hi Peter,
Splendid shot of an endemic species of the Indian subcontinent. Focus on the lower part of the wings is excellent, such as the DoF which kept all parts of the butterfly sharp (except for the left antenna, which became a little out of focus), and even the lovely Rumex leaves also. Lovely composition and white balance, again a very high quality image from you. As I always ask: if you have more time, energy and wish, please come more regularly to TN as we miss you. Thanks.
Kind regards from Ireland, László

Hi Peter,
Finally, a botanical shot in your gallery. ☺ And what a great one! The unique textures of the huge leaf is breathtaking, color saturation is just the optimal and you used the late afternoon lights in a perfect way. Simplistic yet wonderful, minimalistic yet gorgeous! Bravo!

Hi Peter,
Excellent photo in rather difficult light conditions. Your exposure management was perfect - you managed to keep the details on the darker parts, while avoided overexposure on the sky. Bravo! Sharpness on the wing is also perfect. Lovely photo!

Hi Peter,
Very nice shot. And a very difficult one as well - I myself never managed to make a useful photo of this beauty. I love the focus was taken to the closest square millimetre of the wing, so no out-of-focus closer parts. Perfect exposure, nice details on both blacks and whites.
I understand you rather spend your time in the nature, not in front of a PC, but sometimes please visit us here in the future, too. Like you did now. You're always welcomed here.
Kind regards from Ireland, László

Lieber Peter,
Bravo.
Herzliche Grüsse aus Bern

Adorable capture, Peter.
It is pleasure to see you posting off and on. Mercifully, you have not withdrawn completely from this rather truncated site.
The focus is pin sharp and the details and colours on the wings are beautiful.

Hi Peter, this is a great post, the butterflies experts knows that it's very very difficult to take this species with the open wings,i seen many times the circe in my country but i haven't an open wings pic in my archive. 2 beautiful view from above to see the secret side of this big butterfly,i like it! Have a nice week and thanks,Luciano

Hi Peter,
Surprisingly good photo from a smartphone camera. No overexposure at all, and eventhough the closer (right) wing is out of focus, there are beautiful details on the left one.
Please, if you can, come more often to TN. We miss you and your photos.
Kind regards from the Hiberno-Ungarisch, László
