a nice picture.. the satyr blends so well in the background that it took me a while to figure out what exactly is the image about in the thumbnail! all these beauties can only be seen in the Himalayas... thanks for sharing :)

that's a Southern Birdwing - largest butterfly of India. Its always a pleasure to sight it! I know how difficult it is to capture this beauty in flight... thanks for sharing!

wow... excellent capture!! I always wanted to see these as pairs, shows the dimorphism so well! For those who are confused with their genders - the one below - and fat - is a female, and the one on top of the frame - the thin fellow - is a male. tfs!

Poekilocerus pictus, commonly referred to as Painted grasshopper. Nice image, although I see a little shake.
