Beautiful owl portrait Scott. Your squeaking sounds did wonders :)
Just wished there had been a little more light on the right eye of the bird.
Best regards, Harry

Hi Scott,

This is a beautiful portrait! I'm curious as to how far away you were to use fill flash?

I looked at the date, I remember when those storms tore through the St. Louis area...

I have two tripods now, I'm trying to get where I use it more and more. I missed a shot of an eagle in my back yard yesterday morning screwing the tripod boot on the base of my camera...;-( I need to remember shoot some shots and then set the tripod up...;-)

Like altitude is your friend when you are flying, the tripod is your friend taking pictures...

Have you started your web design class yet?

Well, till later mf,

Dave

Pretty sweet mf!

Yea, a 400 and maybe a 105 macro...;-( Ya think!...;-)

I got a new tripod today that came with a spare "quick release" boot that also fits in the one that I lost the boot for. So, I reckon I have a backup. Do you use a remote whenever you use your tripod?

Man, this "Lovely Miss Julia" is really nice! You are going to be competing with Howard soon if you keep this up...;-)
He will always give us a run for our money though, I believe...

POV and composition is simply excellent here!

Thanks & TFS,

Dave

Hi Scott,

You've captured a great picture of a very beautiful bird! Good timing! You froze the bird in mid air with that short shutter speed! Excellent!!! I love the composition and the colors and the details! Exposure is also perfectly done! Remarcable work of art! Thanks!

Eddie

Hi Scott,

This is an excellent portrait of a beautiful raptor! Technically I wasn't able to find a nit on this picture. In my opinion, a plain BG has the advantage of a better isolation of the subject but a picture is a combinaton of many other factors as well. Color is just one of them and your bokeh has brilliant colors. It doesn't distract from the falcon at all. I think both plain and colored BG would have yielded great results, just in a different way. Congratulations for this superb shot!

Regards,
Eddie

Hi Scott,

Wonderful! Spiders are not my favourite subject but this one is one of the best. I've seen many worse pictures taken with macro lenses. The details and sharpness are just incredible. They are inhanced by the very beautiful bokeh which also makes great contrast with the lighter colors of the spider and web. The composition, as in all your photos, is second to none. I can only admire such great work of art. Thanks!

Best regards,
Eddie

Hi Scott,

I've been missing for some time from TN but please accept my belated wishes of well! Happy birthday! As far as it concernes the photo, you've managed to achieve your goals: a freeze action bear and a blurred waterfall in the BG! The exposure is perfect and so is the composition. Very well done! Thanks!

Eddie
