The winter mushroom :-) great pic and angle of shooting.
Last year I met this one in the New Year's Eve, on a tree right in the downtown of my city!
This year is a bit to cold (subfreezing now) and lots of snow, so little chance to met it, but if next week the weather warms up (as the forecast says), who knows...

This is a fine discovery. I should check next year for this specie in my area too, since my location is close both to Hungary and Slovakia... I'll do a bookmark to this page to have at least the macroscopic features. The microscopic will be a problem though...

Mean looking scorpion! As I know, scorpions are generally non agressive, moreover they are fleeing away when something big like a human aproaches them, that's why it is quite difficult to take a good picture (like yours) of them. Fine details on that menacing tail.

This is a great shot. not only because captures a rare animal, but also technically speaking. To make the composition and also find the right exposure parameters wit the sun in front(even if is a sunset) is quite tricky.
