This is lovely, Anne. The splash of purple amongst the green foliage really stands out, and the fern adds some interesting texture and shape to the timage. Your DOF has also created a lovely soft neutral background tooo - well done on a thoughtful image.

i saw quite a few Ground Squirrels on my recent trip to the Staes - they're agressive little fellas aren't they? Very vocal! I like his stood up pose here, it could be a touch sharper but that's a minor thing - lovely shot, well done!

Hi Anne, i hope you are well, i have missed seeing your wonderful apline shots. This speaks very well of the season and illustrated your note well too. i like the streaks of snow on the mountains in the background that help to break up all that rock. A very nice composition too, great work.

how are you my friend? It's been a while! I've just been looking through your last few posts here, it seems your Scandanavian adventures have produced some stunning shots.
So, to this one. What is immediately striking is the wide sweeping curve of almost metallic grey through that lush greenery, linking the bottom of the image with the sky very well. The overcast day gives an honest and natural view of what looks like a superb natural environment with great bio diversity. And of course, perfect DOF, exposure and details. The silver birch in the FG helps add alot of depth too - well done indeed :o)

Hi Rick, this is lovely my friend, a real beautiful moment you caught, a brief moment of contact captured forever. The harsh shooting conditions seem quite challenging but you did well anyway, with great details and DOF, exposing perfectly too. The little patch of grass helps add some context to the scene too-well done. No points as requested...

Hi Niek, how are you? Long time since I've seen a new shot from you, but I'm not around here much anymore. It's great to hear you've been exploring your new environment, you found this location in great light with interesting skies. You picked a good viewpoint, using the wonderfully shaped Birch well as a strong FG element and exposing perfectly the high contrast scene, I would like to see this scene with some ice and frosted grass! Corjan3's comment made me laugh ;0)
