Wow! What a great, sharp image. Where we're you standing to get such a close shot? We rarely see otters that close-in in Monterey...except at Moss Landing. Is the Canon SX 230IS the same as the SX230HS? I'm seriously considering getting one.

I was happy to find you here this morning. You captured the essence of Norway with the mountains right at the water's edge and all the blues. That sweeping sky and shimmering water are lovely. Nice work.

Does this mean your wrist surgery went well and you are back in action?
We are jealous of your snowy owls so close at hand. We were very lucky to locate one of the visitors to our neck of the woods. Jerry got a pretty good shot. It seems all the snowies that come this far south are juveniles therefore not pure white. We were still thrilled to see him.

This is really lovely Niek. I'm wondering if your version is as dark as mine. The water in the front is almost pure black??? I see what you mean about the partial rocks. The only one that bothers me is the the bright one on the far right side. I think without the other one (center right bottom) the composition would be a little heavy with mountains and boulders in the left half of the image.

So... better broken bones than broken camera gear! hmmmmm I understand. I broke a lens once on the first day I used it!

Hi Niek,

You are correct... this does capture a special feeling. I love your long exposure images. I'm not quite clear on how you positioned the filters; but however it was, it seems to have worked well. I suspect you used a level as you are very methodical about technique... however the image does feel a little tilted to the left???????

Firstly a very big thanks for the welcome back after a long time away. I hope now with more time on my hands i will be able to enjoy TN again. Looking at your wonderfull pictures i can see i have missed a lot.
I have chosen this one because we can see the eye so well. Your high shutter speed has frozen the water droplets.Good use off the light . has given natural colours. Well taken and TFS.

Thank you for the welcome back. I have gone back to this picture taken in March. Being that i love bird pictures and this one shows bright lighting with natural colours. The male Mallard was moving fast but you were still able to capture a good reflction. Well taken.
