excellent piece of macro work, DoF is just right and focus is spot on, the only thing that spoils it for me, is the light patch in the background which keeps pulling my eye away from the subject and is something that could be toned down in PS very easily. TFS and keep up the good work.

Well composed image with good separation from the plain background the colours of which compliment the subject well.
Exposure is well controlled with good detail in the black plumage. Not sure about the image in image though, takes something away from the main image.

the bird is isolated well from the background and has good colour and detail.
Composition is good the only little thing that spoils it for me is the tightness of the framing on the birds tail, looks almost like part is cut off, would be a couple of minutes fix in PS if you wanted to. Overall a fine image though, TFS.

Looks like this is quite a crop from the original image as this is very noisy, lacks detail and has been over sharpened (white halo evident around edges) to compensate. That said the composition with the bird on the diagonal works well.

Hi Tabatha,
DoF is just right giving good detail to the plumage, I feel the composition is a little lacking as more space is required to the right of the bird, to look into. The light looks a little harsh and the highlights need toning down, this could be easily done in Photoshop. Overall a fair effort.

Nice capture Karan, I was there on Saturday, the light was even worse but still managed some good images. They do move fast and although these are captive it is still difficult to get anything decent, so well done you. Did you manage to get any of the Weasels? cause they are even quicker, I'm sure they are on Red Bull..!!
