During my stay, I had the opportunity to see many termite mounds, shapes and sizes vary.
In this photograph, a young termite is presented. It is small (about 70 centimeters high with a diameter of 20 centimeters).
A termite mound is a structure made by living creatures, termites (of the order Isoptera). In general, we see only the part above ground, while underground, a network of well-developed gallery may exist and represent the bulk of the termite mound.
The construction of the nest meets behavioral processes astonishing activity triggered in a given situation can be permanently changed by changing the stimulating situation.
Thus, individual behavior is always inflected by the social group, both directly by stimuli from members of the organization, but also and above all, the product of the activity that alters the environment.
The buildings built by termites are sources of agricultural fertility of first order in the Sudano-Sahelian region. In addition, after decommissioning, they constitute a source of materials of choice for the manufacture of ceramics and bricks for the housing.
Photography
The photograph was taken with a relatively dark sky. The camera mode is set to aperture priority, with sensitivity equivalent iso-200 on a focal length of 13 millimeters. Given the modest luminosity, the aperture is f/2.8. With this opening, the speed has been calculated at 1/80 th. |

Vaya no había visto un termitero de esta forma, siempre altos y en forma de montaña bien formada. Cosa curiosa de estas hormigas.
