Unknown flower
ecology and location
I have encountered this flower in a forest area close to a road nearby Kisangani. It was in DRC, in the oriental part of the country.
Characteristic
White actinomorphic flowers from type 3 (we can see 3 sepals and 3 petals, which are identical: we have 6 tepals).
Yellow anthers grouped together in the center of the flower and in relief.
When young the flower is a white hairy bowl. After the pollination, it develops a fruit which is green in colours and covered with long filament.
The leaves are cordiform, delicately dentate, strong green. The nervation is greatly prominent. The secondary nervures goes up to the apex of the dentation of the leaves.
The picture
The picture was taken in the morning under a warm sunshine light. With a sensitivity equivalent to ISO-200 and an aperture of f/8, the speed was 1/100, with a focal length of 6 millimetres.
Post treatment
Re cropping and resizing ; improvement of the gamma and the sharpness with Olympus studio.
