This beautiful butterfly (Papilio saharae saharae) was found on a sagebrush shrublet in Mt Um Shumar, 1900 m. (southern Sinai highlands). It was freezing cold so it did not move. It is amazing how similar this species is compared with the common swallowtail (Papilio machaon).

We have a similar species in my country, Portugal: Papilio machon (linnaeus, 1758)
It's from the Papilionidae family too.
