Hello Peter,

You are showing an interesting bird I have never seen before. Bird's plumage is well shown even if the image is somehow soft. Colors are looking fine and there is a fine match with the background.

Though this is not one of your best images, this White-winged Scrub Robin is captured with enough sharpness to be seen with its characteristics. The pose and POV are great and the composition with the natural red soil Bg pleasing.

How nice to have you as a neighbor!! Congratulations for another first on TN - certainly a bird I have never seen nor heard of. It's amazing how his colors blend in with the environment. I love his face with the dark eye mask. Wonderful details, pose, setting and composition.

A very good look at this White-winged Scrub Robin.
The detail is excellent showing the colours and patterns well.
The bird stands out well from it's similar setting.

Hi Peter. You must have got more new birds on your last trip tan the rest of us put to geather last year . A very big well done for this Robin although different from ous it still has the long legs and the same way it tilts its head to one side.You were able to capture this one with good detail and natural colours. well done TFS, Nick..

Hi Peter,
Not yet a split (not even Pete Ryan splits it yet). The validity of some of the races associated with the two possible species groups, i.e., the leucoptera white-winged group, and the leucophrys red-backed group, is still in need of further delucidation.

For now, Cercotrichas [Erythropygia] leucophrys leucoptera.

This is an interesting new species you're showing us here! In spite of the difficult background details and colours of the markings are shown very nicely. Not much similarity to our Robin except for the long legs! :-)
