it's a lovely bird and I like this impressive golden eye very much.

I can always count on you to introduce me to a new species! This Batis is beautiful with the lovely yellow eye set in the black of the face. Wonderful blacks and whites and fine details of the entire bird. A beautiful pose, setting and composition.

What a rich haul of images you have from your trip to Africa, Peter!
This little bird is very beautiful and you have captured it very effectively.
I like the wide range of colours on it - in particular the yellow eye.
The general green of the BG supports the subject very well.

On this picture I appreciate a lot the very beautiful vertical composition. May be the sharpness could be improved, but I understand that this is easier said than done. And always interesting to see these African birds on this site.
