I was very happy to see how much the TN tribe enjoyed my previous ,,African Shadows,, photograph and since it brought me so many positive comments and joy I decided to post some more in same theme, hoping you will enjoy as much.
This fine ,,Shadow theatre effect,, I should call it can be finely produced with carefull metering and compositioning. Metering the sky close to the sun will get you a picture perfect underexposed silhouette, lock exposure and refocus for a crisp front plan and hope for the best, also try a little underexposure... The aperture mode would be your safest bet to control it !
My advice is to always lower your shooting position, even dug a hole like I did at times and shoot from the lowest elevation possible in order to capture large portions of your subject against the sky light.
And make use of your filters of course, this one has a neutral density one in front of the camera !

My favourite mammal, just love giraffe.
These silhouettes are very pretty, I must try it sometime here with kangaroos. Very nice composition, I like it.

You are right about the low POV! Your photo is marvelous! The black shape of the giraffe is very fine!

Another beauty. I love the mood of these as it makes me feel like I am actually on safari.

Otra agradable imagen en contraluz de una jirafa con excelente composicion y colorido.
A pesar de la escasa iluminación es llamativa la total definicion y nitidez de los dibujos del animal.
Buen trabajo.

Another pleasant image in backlighting of a giraffe with excellent composition and colorful.
In spite of the little illumination she is showy the total definition and clearness of the drawings of the animal.
Good job.

Radu, I really like these shots for their simple & bold compostion. Your technique creates a dramatic effect that is unmistakably unique. Also, this "tribal" member would like to thank you for noting just how you managed this shot with settings & equipment. Well done my friend!!

Very good Radu.
Very pleasant
Great composition, nice colours and good details.
Excellent work.

Effective semi silhouette image, would have been improved if the giraffe had co-operated and been side on in the frame, but ok under the circumstances.

Great artistic composition Radu. The giraffe makes a great silhouette. I really enjoyed all your other posts and I hope you have a lot more for us.

Nice composition, Radu. I think it would have had more impact if the silhouettes were a bit darker. But it's subjective. Nice shot.

Personally I would prefer a little darker silhouette. I like composition and colour of the sky.

Beautiful !
