I'm glad I am seeing another post of yours because I love what you do, your gallery is superb. I remember well those birds in frosted branches. And this one is a cutie, superb and very well photogaphed. The light is great and the background values this little bird so well. Gambia is a great country for birds!
This is a juvenile Woodchat Shrike (Lanius senator) that shows with good sharpness against a fine bokeh BG. It is beginning to gain its adult plumage.
I like the POV and composition too.

Sorry Zeno, Ik ben verre van een vogel expert. Maar ik kan de schoonheid van deze foto zeker waarderen. The kleuren in zowel de achtergrond als in de vogel zijn echt wonderschoon. het detail en de mooie glinstering in het oog zijn prachtig.

Ha Zeno,
gambia in februari....zucht dat is gewldig. Ben er ooit een keer geweest eind januari (eigenlijk meer in zuid senegal, maar ook twee dagen gambia) en het is geweldig. Ik had toen geen camera, maar wat me echt nog bijblijft is de abessian roller die minutenlang op slechts een paar meter afstand in een struikje zat. Ben erg beniewd naar je andere foto's. Dit ziet er al erg goed uit.
