These birds have amazing iredescent colors which are a challenge to capture. Focusing with a digital camera is an entirely accidental event, too. But here you are; a lucky shot of a beautiful bird, sitting on the branch of an acacia tree. In spite of the thorns, giraffes love to graze on the tops of these trees.

Superb indeed, Eleanor. I have recently had the opportunity to photograph one of these birds in an aviary, but yours is all the more thrilling because it was captured in the wild. A very beautiful starling in its own environment. Bravo, and thanks for sharing. : )

Like you, I have photographed these common bu amazingly coloured starlings in Kenya. Your image is a bit odd: is it scanned from a print? Its fuzzy and a bit washed out. Nice picture to show the bird, but technically somewhat lacking.
