[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
S'il recueille nombre de suffrages parmi les touristes, le Lion passe le plus clair de son temps à ne rien faire et son observation confine parfois à la lassitude. Ces animaux vivent en troupes pouvant rassembler 30 individus, qui défendent un territoire oscillant entre 20 et 400 kilomètres carrés, selon le terrain et le gibier disponible. Bien qu'ils coopèrent aisément entre eux, ce ne sont pas d'excellents chasseurs et il leur faut parfois jusqu'à cinq tentatives avant de capturer leur proie. A l'âge de deux ou trois ans, le mâle quitte le groupe familial et forme des alliances avec d'autres jeunes lions, afin de créer une nouvelle troupe. Ces animaux sont dangereux malgré leur attitude placide. Il leur arrive d'attaquer et de tuer les humains. Ils peuvent fondre sur vous en quelques secondes, même s'il semble à bonne distance.
