Cheetahs Can't Climb Trees
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|Cheetahs are not supposed to be able to climb trees because they cannot retract their claws (they use them for stablity whilst running - rather like the spikes in a sprinter's shoes). This makes their claws (supposedly) unsuitable for climbing. No-one had told this young male or his brother as both were looking for prey in this acacia tree.|
Samburu is an excellent Park for big cats. It is best if possible to have your own experienced guide and vehicle - otherwise what you see can be a compromise. I was able to watch this pair for ages - and was way late for lunch!

Very nice shot of my favorite big cat... I hope one time I could see one in his natural habitat :-) Excellent composition and good details.
Thanks for sharing and I add this photograph directly in my favorite!
