Black rhino and calf with red-billed oxpeckers. Our guide seemed to be extra careful approaching these animals and kept his distance.
Daryl Balfour was in the neighbourhood too: see the February issue of Africa Geographic.

Hi Daniel,
Excellent capture of this rhinos!
I like so much this glimpse of african wildlife.
You got great details on the rhinos, specially the textured skin and the horns.
Very good the wide composition to fit this couple.
The birds on them adds action to the scene.
Congratulations and thanks for share.
Best regards,

Hello Daniel

Nicely done.A very nice composition, you have captured the rhinos each in a good pose.I like the timing of the shot, catching the bird in flight like that.Very nice natural colours. It must be exciting to see these creatures in the wild like that.TFS

A very clear shot of these two rhinos.
I like their orientation and position relative to each other.
That makes for a lovely composition.
The light and colors are beautiful. I really like that touch of orange tones on the adult.

Oh, and the oxpeckers standing on the rhino's back are a great bonus.

A great shot here of this rhino and calf. It's superbly photographed, and I love the colors on the female. What's really neat is you've caught the red-billed oxpecker in mid-flight between them, too! A classic African photo!
