In my pre-digital periode (2003)I made only slides. Now I've scanned this slide and used the noise-reducer, sharpened a bit, a tiny cropp and here it is.
Reserve de Nahampoana is one of the places in Madagascar where different types of lemurs can live without disturbance. These reserves are declining.

Verreaux's Sifaka (Propithecus verreauxi) is a medium sized primate in one of the lemur families, Indriidae. It lives in Madagascar and can be found in a variety of habitats from rainforest to western Madagascar dry deciduous forests and dry and spiny forests. The fur is thick and silky and generally white with brown on the sides, top of the head, and on the arms. Like all sifakas, it has a long tail that it uses as a balance when leaping from tree to tree. However, its body is so highly adapted to an arboreal existence that on the ground its only means of locomotion is hopping. The species lives in small troops and forages for food in the morning and late afternoon, resting during the hottest part of the day.

Hi Peter,

That is very sharp for a scanned slide! A cute picture - I almost expected to see them playing cards. The blacks and whites are very good and the eyes on the central one are fantastic.

Hi Peter

I also visited Nahamphona - wonderful! Nice group shot - I like the focus on the off centre sifaka and the differing poses of the others.

Interesting lemur species, esp. the eyes and the white fur. They seem to be rather social animals. An excellent capture and a great contribution to TN. Regards,

Olá Peter .
Esta realmente é uma especie muito interessante.
Os lemures no fundo da imagem desfocados deram um tom muito legal na foto.
Parabéns, belo trabalho !

Very interesting meeting of these primates... I used the word meeting and I just saw your title "conference"!!! It looks like an african elder's conference/meeting ;-)
