[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
A roost of Mauritian Fruit bats was a welcome surprise at the end of an arduous day of archaeological survey of the Powder Mills. Thew populations is doing very well, in large part because it has been many years since there was a really bad cyclone. The species is currently protected, but fruit farmers are clamoring for a cull.
The camera was set to take photos of walls in dense forest where it was very dark. This shot, however, is better than some taken with a lower ISO and slower shutter speed. I will go back when I can specifically to take some nature photos. |
