|The scarlet chested sunbird is a large chunky sunbird. The male is unmistakable, it has a matt black body and a bright scarlet breast. At close range the iridescent blue flecks on the scalet breast can be seen. The male is bold and conspicuous, chasing other birds from his territory.|
Occurs in mixed dry and moist woodland, thornveld and suburbia.

As you said yesterday, today you came up with another wonderful closeup shot of a scarlett chested sunbird! I like the wonderful contrast between its red and the black color. The POV and sharpness is simply great with nice DOF. Complete blue sky adds another feather to your crown. Wonderful shot overall!
Thanks for posting!

does it glow in the dark? fantastic capture of what i would call "wow!-bird" - this is so pretty,
the red and the black of the plumage are really great, and even the blue-purplish spots inbetween the red are almost glowing.
wonderful job & take care, thor.
