Count the legs! It should be 16 of them! "Burchell's Zebras" gathering in front of our car in Etosha National Park

Social grooming helps cement bonds within the harem. Zebras use their teeth and lips to nibble and scrape along the neck, shoulders, and back of their grooming partner. Grooming partners are usually two individuals of the same harem that are on friendly terms. Mothers and foals are the most common grooming partners, followed by siblings. Thus, it is likely that maternal and kinship bonding is the main function of social grooming. Grooming also helps to ease aggression and confirm social status.

Hi Stefan,

interesting image also from an ethological perspective, considering how rare is this species of zebra, so rare as to be considered extinct for some decades.Nice the composition with an optimal focus on zebras.

Hi Stefan,

Very well captured this lovely moment.
Good POV to show all the Zebra's. Nice framing too.
Well done & TFS.

Hi Stefan,

A very nice capture of these Burchell's Zebras, well i can only count 14 legs and 4 heads hows that work out? eheh, lovely show of affection and a most unusual scene, perhaps a little over exposed but a very well captured moment,
Congratulations Stefan and have a nice day,
Best Regards,

Hello Stefan
Beautiful and interesting photo with very good composition and wonderful colours.

great unique capture, TFS Ori

Hallo Stefan
A beautiful, colourful and true to nature image. I like the different layers in the scenery, starting at the dirt road, ending by the blue sky far in the distance. The poses in which you captured these trio is just great, and as Bungbing mentioned is that the love and affection seen here is so clearly visible. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.

Hello Stefan,

Your striped friends seems to be very sociable creatures!
A cute and funny situation has been recorded, good details all over and presented in an attractive composition...
The chosen DoF isolates the animals well from the background!
