This desert sunset photograph is captured at my second destination...Sesriem. First track was Windhoek-Rehoboth. Second one: Rehoboth-Sesriem. 3OO km on gravel with a dangerous Tsaugab river crossing on D854 due partailly to washed away roads. I was really happy it wasn't raining that particular day.
Anyway this is captured at Le Mirage Desert Lodge.
21 km from Sesriem, district road C27, the entrance gate to the Namib Naukluft Park and Sossusvlei

GPS Co-Ordinates: S 24 40'24 - E 015 47'3
Elevation: 980m
C27/D826 gravel road

The Namib-Naukluft Park is not only Namibianís largest park, but also one of the largest in Africa. The Namib is considered to be one of the oldest deserts in the world. It presents an ever-changing kaleidoscope of scenery that ranges from the shifting sand dunes of perspective, the park can be divided into four areas:
the Namib section between the Swakop and Kuiseb rivers,
the Naukluft section and
the central Namib sand sea, including Sesriem and Sossusvlei.
Each of these areas has distinctive flora and fauna and offers visitors different experiences and scenery.

I hope you'll enjoy this desert sunset. It was amazing to be there and to experience the ultimate beautifulness in this harsh environment...
Even a good writer could not describe this...
Have a nice Christmas evening...

Hoi Annick,

great landscape, tFS Ori

Hallo Annick
The colours captured of the sky and clouds in this scenery are awesome, moody and unpredictable, yet glowing with warmth and a feeling of magic. You have captured a world all its own it the sky. What I see looking at the dunes on the foreground is difficult to explain or describe as Iíve got the words on the tip of my tongue but it seems as if that is where itís going to stay. The colours of the dunes are extraordinary. This is great photography and a pleasure to look at. Best wishes for you and your loved ones over this Christmas period.
Best regards

Merry Christmas Annick
I love the colours in your Kalahari sunset. They are a nice contrast to the sand dune in the foreground. The textures and lighting bring this composition together beautifully.

Hi Annick,
Excellent capture of this beautiful landscape. Quite extraordinary to see landscape photos taken with that lens wide open but the result is excellent; great POV, DOF and composition, sharp details and bright colours.
Best Wishes!

Hi Annick,
I have been away for a while and have missed out on so many of your Namibia images.
What an awesome scene this is. Very moody, what a barren hilly desert, and the pink clouds are so eye-catching.
Excellent composition

Annick, being very new on TN I just discover your gallery
You're definitely a talent, no doubt !
I also like the way you frame your pictures and their presentation
Happy 2009
