Hello Thomas,
a lovely presentation of the desert landscape. how i love seeing the intensity and richness of the colours. The wonderful blue sky with dramatic puffy clouds and exciting patterns of the sand. the track leads the eyes to top of the dunes with people there.
Exciting composition and such a challenging place.

The Namib is a big favourite with me. Once camped for two months inland from Cape Cross. No dunes there - undulating gravel-covered hills, dry river beds and gypsum flats with mountains in the north and west.

This is beautiful. Drawing one's eye from the foregraound along the ridge to the top of the dune and the beautiful sky and clouds, one gets the sensation of being there and climbing the dune. Very good composition and atmosphere. Well done!

Hi Peter,

Hello Peter,
A special point of view chosen for this Namibian dune-picture. Love the way we see the human traces going to the top! Beautiful cloudy sky as color-contrast. Pleasant natural shot.
Kind regards

Hello Peter,
This is a perfect landscape photo; the composition is fine and the colours fantastic. I love the partly cloudy sky. Well done! Best wishes, Pambos

Hi Peter,
a well chosen position to take your foto. Good colours and sharpness.

Hi Peter,
This is a really a pretty landscape. I love the big poofy white clouds and the big blue sky. The people on top of the dune kind of put its size into perspective as well.

I am not much of a spritual person but whenever I see footprints in sand I think of this poem. I thought I would share it.

Footprints in the Sand

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.

In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was one only.

This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord, You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”

The Lord replied, “The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.”
