|I took this photo while on holiday in Beau Vallon - after spending the summer volunteering - doing marine conservation work in the Seychelles. After my work was done, I took 10 days for purely recreational diving. |
This photo was taken during a dive where I didn't have a very good dive buddy (someone I didn't know), so I found this great octopus & no one else saw it. As I was photographing it - it kept moving around this area - changing all sorts of colors. It was pretty cool! I found many Octopus during my time in the Seychelles, I even found 2 of them together on one dive. I think they may have been mating.
The Seychelles is a small island nation located in the Indian Ocean northeast of Madagascar and about 1,600 km (1,000 miles) east of Kenya. The number of islands in the archipelago is often given as 115 but the Constitution of the Republic of Seychelles lists 155.
I stayed on the island of Mahé for most of the summer of 2006, doing marine conservation work. But also stayed on Curieuse for a week & visited Praslin The scenery was beautiful & the diving was incredible everywhere I went!
