With its thick bill and and very colourful plumage the Crested Barbet is unmistakeable. This small bird has a speckled yellow and red face with a small black crest. The belly is yellow with red speckles, wings are black with white specks and it has a broad black band on its neck. Yellow head and body with black and white feathers, red markings on end of body, its colour blends well in the bush. They have a distinct shrill.

Hello George,
Awesome image of this very colorful Crested Barbet. Hard to believe one bird could possess such an array of colors as well as intricate markings. Tac sharp focus displaying exceptional detail and wonderful eye contact. Such a stout looking beak these birds have, I imagine they put them to good use when feeding. Perfect exposure and I like the blurred colorful BG. Your Tamron SP 150-600mm seems to work great in conjunction with the 6D. Well done!!
