[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I will post this under the Just Missed theme, because I got only one shot, and managed to crop the tip of the nose in the process as well. The yawn is great, but not missing the tip of the nose. Creative cropping and cloning, and viola!, that 1 mm that was needful can now be seen.

I am not overly fond of lions, but one prepared to give us a little bit of action, even if it is such a complete dismissal of one’s presence, works wonders to get the shutter finger operative. I must say, the one thing I do NOT enjoy of the Sigma OS is that it is a donkey – slow to respond, and there is no plan of a HSM, I believe. Canon, with their IS and HSM equivalent is miles ahead of the competition. If the lens had an HSM, I could have nailed at least 6 pictures during this yawn.
I was quite near, not more than say 3m, shooting handheld through the car window.
I added a WS of the original, untuched, just reduced to 72 PPI.

Great shot and PP to stich the tip of the nose.. If you hadn't mentioned it I would have not noticed it... These teeth are wow but how about the tong, we can see all the details on it.

This one is telling you to 'Go away!" It's not easy catching the yawns. I caught my cat yawning and missed the top of her lip! I couldn't fix that with PP. Similar capture too, but in miniature, but with a friendler creature than this one Callie:) Good job!

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one that can mess up Callie. The fixed shot is great. What a huge mouth she's got.
Excellently seen and shot at such a close distance. Good work once again

wauw callie I see what he has eating,
erg goede foto, de details zijn echt gaaf, prachtige kleuren en een uitstekende scherpte, goed werk Callie

I have learned that animal trainers always put their arm or head in the mouth of the lion to show their control but I don't see yours;-).

Wonderful capture Callie - I simply love it and this one does certainly not need any dentist with those nice teeth. Wonderful pose and very good tight cropping.

I thought she was saying " Aahhhhh" to have her tonsils checked...as a matter of fact I'll be you could see clear down to her belly button with that yawn! I love it! Great capture, Callie!!!!!

What great big teeth and tongue you have Callie. Ooops, that's your secretary screaming at you, nope, goofed again.
Excelent shot and perfect timing to achieve this big yawn. I can hear her.!!!
Well done on this composition.

Belle prise avec des supers détails. Félicitations et bonne journée.

This is a great shot and PP Callie.
Very good details, pose and colours.
Great work.

I had plan to order a OS, but hesitate when you say its that slow. I have used for a OS/IS in the dark times of the year, but the light is on the return now so I will wait and see.

Interesting shot, and well repaired from the original..I'm sure the D70 viewfinder gives a greater than 100% view as I keep cutting bits off as well! Well caught shot.

Excellent pose! :) What an awesome mouth & jaws. :) Very creative to add a little bit of nose! If you hadn't mentioned it, I wouldn't have seen it. Colors are great. Everything is good. I have one little nit though, the piece of grass which blurs the mouth disturbs me a little. Anyway, don't get me wrong; this is a wonderful picture! :)

Proficiat Callie!

Coming back to the recent discussion about orthodontists, this one is a good illustration for patients to show them what's dental hygiene about when their wear braces. I wouldn't say it's a just missed one, because the bottom line is perfect (good illustration with your ws post). Must be impressive at 3m, even thru the car window! To me, very good shot and great timing.

Wow, great shot. Very original and it must be the most detailed lion tongue I have seen :-). I love the composition and cropping . Very good work Callie.

Ahh, a tongue in cheek shot, a very differnet view of a lion. Great PP to clone the nose. A great shot.

Great shot Callie. Good post-processing.
I hope that she does not have a grudge against you, this lady in brown!

Great pose, Callie. Exceptional stop action you have here. Very well done. Slow or not... you are complaining with a loaf of white bread under the arm. :)

WOW, it was really bored. You shot just on time. Nice situation captured. You should take it out from just missed, I would not notice if you didnt tell. Good work.

To my opinion, this lion suffers from an austere laryngitis. Some medicines are to be prescribed. LOL

A beautiful scene of pull it language, all the mustaches are there, the tip of the nose including, it is a very beautiful composition. The definition is very good, the light and the colours also.

Well done.

Hey Callie,
I simply say WOW what a shot. You have managed to capture the perfect shot for a budding veterinarian :-)

Wishing you a very happy 2007.
