Malachite Kingfisher
 |
|
[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Malachite Kingfisher lives alone or in pairs, and adopts a territorial behaviour. This bird is not very shy. It perches on exposed place, at small height above water, on a branch, a reed, a stump or a rock. When a prey is selected, it spreads and drops its crest which feathers disperse in all directions with the wind. _Its fishing method is always the same: it dives with little noise; it immediately returns at once with the captive prey brings it to its perch where it kills it by beating. It carries its prey across the bill, or head first in its crop. And then,
it swallows the whole prey. |

Hi Nyala,
I like the composition, this beautifulm eye-catching bird and as a background those grey-brownish bushes... And the subject is well focused and caught in a nice pose... TFS, Marta
Love the 3-D effect - the bird stands out from the background so well.Think I agree with MMM about cropping a bit more.
