Nice to hear from you again. This is an excellent shot. The lighting, the details are very good and the positioning in the frame excellent. The bokeh background compliments the bird very well. Excellent shot, very well done!

A great composition Annick!
The frontal POV of the face while seeing the body from the side makes this an unusual shot of a Yellow-billed Hornbill and the sharpness is good enough to see its eyelashes. Great lighting and BG too.

machtig mooie capture hier Annick,
geweldig hoe hij op zijn gemakje in de lens zit te kijen. zeer fraai fotowerk hier. Ik denk dat een vergroting van alleen de kop ook een hele interessante foto kan opleveren, mooi werk hoor.

I thinks this funny and so beautiful bird is created for shooting. You have pictured it as a first-class and coquettish photo model. Amazing pose of the model and brilliant composition. Pictured scene (I mean nice branch with thin twig and colourful smooth BG) are superb. Bravo.

this is beautiful image mainly because of the great lighting and the position of the bird. i only wish that you could have used more of that great background than this tight composition. situations like this may not repeat again you see. tfs.

This is gorgeous. It's a fabulous, simple composition. I love the yellow leaves and the neutral tones of the bird against that beautifully colored background is stunning. The little touch of red on the hornbill is so special. DOF is excellent.

Hello Annick,
Wat een arrogante blik heeft deze hornbill. Maar hij laat zich wel van z'n beste kant zien. Schitterende foto. Vooral ook door de contrasterende kleuren van de achtergrond. Uitstekende scherpte en POV. Alle aandacht gaat naar de fraaie kop.

Hi Annick

You really have an impressive gallery of hornbills!!!
Again a splendid shot, with flawless sharpness across the entire length and depth of the big bird.
The side strong light is a great bonus and give this picture a distinct character.
The BG is equally superb - well blurred with perfectly saturated.

A beautifully composed shot Annick.
It strikes me that this isn't your typical Hornbill pose, but its more interesting for that.It certainly shows character, if looking a little more 'scruffy' than dignified.

Hoi Annick,
Ik heb gisteren een presentatie van Marijn Heuts bijgewoond en hij had een hele mooie serie foto's van Afrika. Maar, deze verslaan er velen van hem. De pose van deze bijzondere vogel is erg mooi. Maar, vooral het licht en de achtergrond maken de foto prachtig. het geeft nog meer detail aan de vogel. Ook de lege compositie met de tak is prachtig. Ik kan alleen wel zien dat je iets aan de rechterkant van de vogel hebt weggecloned.
