The mosaic of colours in this species are simly great! A little limilar to European Pica pica, but on the other hand totaly different combination.
This species in new for me and thanks to your note I learned a lot about this interesting bird.

Hello Annick,

I like the low POV you have chosen to show this bird. You have had a nice eye contact with the bird despite your rear position. As image is sharp good details of the bird can be observed. In the mean time bird's image stands fine against the blurry background.

Great close-up from you again, my friend!
I really like you low POV here that allows us such an intimate view of this Blacksmith Lapwing but also gives a terrific, far away BG that makes the subject stand out even better,
The sharpness of your shot is impeccable and the natural colors are also very beautiful.
On a different level: you say your digital workflow envolves Lightroom and Camera Raw before PS...what do you usually do with the first two?

Hallo Annick,

mooie belichting van deze vogel, de rode ogen komen mooi uit in het zwart van zijn vederkleed.
Je hebt veel mooie foto's gemaakt daar in Afrika, zodat je daar nog steeds uit kan putten.

De detailering van het verenkleed is werkelijk verbluffend overal goede doortekening in.

What a beautiful bird!
I love the contrasting black and white patterns fading into grey at the rear.
This is one I haven't seen on TN before and is totally new to me.

Hallo Annick,
Fantastisch lage POV weer. Hierdoor steekt de plevier prachtig af tegen de vage achtergrond. Leuke pose met zijn gedraaide koppie. Scherpte en kleuren zijn als van ouds, uitstekend. Fraaie compositie. Een foto om jaloers op te worden.
