[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Pied Kingfisher(Ceryle rudis) found widely distributed across Africa and Asia. Their black and white plumage, crest and the habit of hovering over clear lakes and rivers before diving for fish makes it distinctive.
We found this one using the bridge over the Letaba River asa very successful perch to dive into the river from.

Hello Chirs,
Make this picture seems to be complicated! But you've solved all very well, handling the light and contrast are accurately and efficiently solving the POV. Good work, is a bird portrayed in a very interesting expression! Appears ready to fish!
Regards, TFS

A fine and lovely capture of this pretty kingfisher while looking at down MF.
Well-timed excellent work!
TFS and have a nice WE!

What a lovely bird this Pied Kingfisher is Chris! Clean and perfect focus on the bird body. Brilliant natural colors and impeccable white balance indeed. The Pentax K100D seems capable of awesome results! Bravo!

Bonjour Chris,
Agréable publication valorisant relativement bien le sujet dans un environnement ingrat.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.

Well done, Chris.
His blacks and whites are within the range. Well done. Furthermore not so easy to capture these guys...

Hello Chris,
Excellent capture of this beautiful bird, who can use human structures for fishing! Great management of light and sharpness. Have a nice weekend,

Hello Chris,
This good photo from a Pied Kingfisher is badly missing in my collection, even if this bird is widely distributed in Africa
This is a good capture even if the perch is not very "nature"

Hello Chris,
A very fine capture of this Kingfisher that I remember as a common and very lively species in Gambia. I love its pose here and details are very sharp and stand out against the background.
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Interesante situación de este ave que no tenemos por estas latitudes y
un buen control de la potente luz reinante en el momento del disparo.
Saludos Chris: Josep Ignasi.
