Thank you for your critiques yesterday, dear friends....

African elephants are the species of elephants in the genus Loxodonta, one of the two existing genera in Elephantidae. Although it is commonly believed that the genus was named by Georges Cuvier in 1825, Cuvier spelled it Loxodonte. An anonymous author romanized the spelling to Loxodonta and the ICZN recognizes this as the proper authority.(wiki)

I photographed this awesome animal close to restcamp Mopani.

Hello Annick,

Your photo shows this elefant in great sharpness. I like very much how you have rendered the texture of the skin as well as all details of the animal. There is also a very fine light in your image showin such a reachness of color tones.

Thank you for sharing,

Hello Annick,
A fine POV, excellent sharpness and lighting, superb natural OOF BG all contribute to make a great portrait of this young adult elephant.
TFS this beauty,

A wonderful capture of this impressive creature Annick.
Excellent detail once again.
I guess you can't get anything other than a good low POV with these huge animas, unless you're up in a tree or on a cliff.
It certainly emphaises their giganticness though.
Very nice work!
I'm afraid I've missed lots of your great shots, but I've added you to my alerts now so I won't in future (I thought I had already, silly me :)

Hi Annick

Another splendid elephant shot from you, my friend!
Again terrific details and textures here as well as nice natural colors.
As always, again a lesson in how to exploit a good shallow DOF - which here isolated this huge animal so well from its surroundings. About how far from it were you really?
Anyway, another beauty to watch!

Bravo and TFS

Annick, the low point of view seems to make the elephant more imposing. Great picture.
