I had captured this 'Sabota Lark' (Calendulauda sabota) in Kruger National Park during our staying in the northern area.

A very common Lark in the drier Savanna areas. The distinctive broad eyebrow and the under parts are white, the chest boldly striped. Forage on the ground but sings mostly from a tree.

The call is variable and includes imitations of other birds and even mammals.

Hi Sri,
Beautiful, clear capture, as always from you. Spectacular composition and perfect timing to just catch the open beak. Awesome! Such as the smooth, noise-free background, color contrast, and sharpness on the feathers. Absolutely a masterpiece, congratulations!
Kind regards from Ireland, László

Hello Srikumar,
Another beautiful specimen from your trip to Kruger. I like its speckled markings and the fact that you captured it singing. Wonderful detail and just the right amount of exposure. The blue sky is an eye catching bonus!!

Hi Srikumar, interesting post,a common species of the Savanna areas but not often seen on TN. The imposing perspective is a winner like the usual top sharpness, well done! Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Hello Srikumar,
Thanks for visiting my gallery.....
I'm on a short holiday in DANUBE DELTA (heaven on earth for any photographer). I do not have much time for comment.....

Every time I return from my periodic disappearances, your works, Srikumar, are more beautiful and professional. Congratulations!!!! Congratulations!!!! Delicate chromatic composition, the sweet celestial background, the light tones that predominate in the plumage of this little bird and the pale pink tones of its beak and legs harmonize in a very pleasant way.
