[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Just arrived home again from my seatrip (unfortunatly without luggage,think it is still stucked at rome airport,but hopefully it will be delivered in one of the coming days),this is a shot I could make in the pretoriuskop restcamp,while we where walking to the restaurant to have our breakfast after a morning drive I saw this fellow checking himself out in the mirror of a car of another visitor,I was only able to make one shot of him while he took off again,but it was quite amusable to see this behaviour,hope you like it as well,and have a nice weekend.

Hello Paul,
What a fine and interesting capture!
I have never seen a Woodpecker behaving in this way before.
This is a Bennet's Woodpecker (Campethera bennettii) looking at his own reflection on a species of car that I don't know!
Sharp and well composed shot.

Hey when you're a good looking chick magnet like that ,you can't help but look at your own reflection.I was watching some woodpeckers the other day and one of them would bang on a steel roof to get attention.Talk about noisy.With the mirror,you managed a well illuminated subject.Very good detail in the plumage.You were in the right spot at the right time.TFS
