[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
We were able to watch this elephant go through his whole bathroom routine at the nkaya dam just south of Satara in the Kruger Park. It was a bit late in the morning so the sun's angle is a bit high but I think this and the next couple of entries can be of interest to TN veiwers. Note the worn right tusk which shows that he is right handed as he uses it more.
It is really a pleasure to sit and watch these majestic animals go about their daily tasks and all one's stress just drops away. Every now and then they give a deep bass sound which can only be thought of as utter contentment.

Hello Robin,

Very nice shot of the tusker during its mud bathing ritual.Well done!

Superb full frame. A sort of slice of life in the day of a huge beast:-) Very good time to click the shutter...creative and technically fine!

Hi Robin,
That must have been quite an experience!
I wish I had been there, sitting next to you and your friends,
watching this big guy go through his ablutions. : )
A wonderful action shot that depicts a natural behavior of the great pachyderm.
So sharp! Great expression of bliss on his face with eyes closed. : )
Love the water drops.
TFS. : )
