Different types of vervets vary in colour, but generally the body is a greenish olive or silvery grey. The face, ears, hands, feet and tip of the tail are black, but an obvious white band on the forehead blends in with the short whiskers.

Males are slightly larger than females and are easily recognized by their turquoise blue scrota. The vervet is classified as a medium to large monkey. Its tail is held up, with the tip curving down. Arms and legs are the same length.

Hi George,

a pretty family picture with the usual great image definition and an excellent BG to bring out well the main subjects, thanks to an accurate focusing.The baby monkey's bright eyes draw the attention well, one small imperfection in the bluish stain -a bit distracting- on the paw of one of two monkeys.Truthfully i don't understand what it is....

Oh what a b e a u t i f u l Vervet baby!! Steel gray and circles of pink, protective arm sheltering the wee one and with her eyes closed our focus on baby so quaint and clear. Almost see a flash of light in his delicate eyes.
