I took this shot in the Kruger Park close to Satara.

Buffalo
Syncerus caffer

These large, ox-like bovids have a reputation for sevagery and cunning and not without reason. Despite the fact they are solely vegetarian, they are responsible for the deaths of many people throughout the continent and are rightly feared by all with whom they come into contact. the animals are quick-tempered and will not hesitate to use their massive horns to ram and to gore if they perceive any threat whatsoever. Their reputation for extreme cunning and circling around to wait in ambush for hunter following their trail, s probably much exaggerated. This may occur only if the animal is seriously wounded.

Hi Stephane. Great shot of this beast.good detail . I like the others in the background blured. well done TFs..
Nick

I must admit he does not look like a fun loving creature prone to frolics. It is a great capture and color and sharpness are very good. I really like the OOF buffalo in the BG with all the repetitions of the curly horns. Nice work.

Hello Stephane

Excellent sharp image, with excellent POV and DOF.I like how this one is above the rest of the herd, and the rest of the herd is the OOF BG.Nicely done.TFS

Rob

I believe the Masai people call it 'the black death'. They avoid the animal.
I guess the loners are the dangerous ones.
Good work, Stephane.
Close shot and encounter...probably not photographed through car glass?:-)
Beautiful image. Beautiful blurred herd...

Hi Paul

What a great shot of my favourite animal. I love the look on his face that he really fears nothing.

Cheers

Juan
