Interesting POV on this beautiful beetle. The colors are gorgeous against that background. Sharp details. Great job!
Tim, perfect macro.
Very good photo.
I might sound like an old lady by now... :)
This is also not a "hooked-wing" look at my photo they have a pair of "hooks" on the wing.
The DOF is very shallow at F5, might I suggest that you switch to ISO 200 or even ISO 400 given the amount of light you had (your camera can handle in with ease). It would have given you F8 or F11 and a faster shutterspeed given the amount of movement from the wind. You would have compensated for the shallow DOF and wind. Your notes really helps to enable me to give this type of advice.
Had this been tack sharp given the composition and contrasts I think it would have ROCKED!
Hope it helps... and just shout if you had enough, critizism from me. :)
C'est la première fois que je vois un bestiaux pareil !
Pragtig! Nice burnt orange and black, POVis nice, dof not bad at all. Yes, wind is the enemy of SS, and I have many just missed pics due to wind. I can't recall having ever seen this critter, TFS
Also, take pictures from all angles, and use different f-stop, this guy needs at least f16, but then a faster SS. F8 @1/125 with ISO 100 works on manual with flash, so use this as kick-off.
Rus my Siel of Seel?
Good shot, but focus a bit soft. A smaller fstop would have been better.
This is a beauty Tim! The sharpness and color is great. I also like the composition.
Very well done and thanks for posting
