When it is a small one there is no hiding it...compared to the grasses around which give it appropriate size. Pretty good moving along he does for a young one...I suppose where they are they have to grow fast. Interesting of the skin. As humans we alway associate "wrinkled" skin with age but the opposite is true here...Nice informative image and notes Annick.

Hi Annick,
This baby is walking fast to catch up with mom. A nice action shot. Well seen in natural environment. TFS this fine image.

Aww! A short but nice story about Junior Ellie :)
I watched a programme last night about elephants and one of the babies got lost. Luckily one of the adults found the baby again and the herd were all rejoicing at his return. :) I was amazed at how intelligent Elephants are!
Magnificent lighting and colours.
Great sharpness and detail... superb texture in the skin.
Perfect composition.
The pose is just like a child would draw an elephant in :)
Well done Annick.
Thanks,
Joe

Hi Annick.
Nice action shot. You managed to catch so attractive scene and moment. The amplitude of movements is maximal and so impressive. I also like great DOF and excellent details of whole scene. Well done and TFS.

hello Annick
great shot of animal that i love there babys,
the baby elephants are cute
i love the happy story of your note, because one day
in TV i saw a documentary on elephants, and the nature
was very bad againts a baby elephant because he lost
her mother and he was walking alone searching her...
that night i could'nt sleep well because i thinked
in my mind « why nature was bad againts that baby elephant »
in your image, excellent details of the baby elephant
and beautiful foot movement, TFS

This photo, to my eye, almost looks completely out of proportion... and I don't know why. I think the young elephant doesn't have the usual stocky square shape we are used to. The grasses seem out of proportion to the animal. It is just a funny illusion. It looks to me like a small toy elephant walking among normal sized weeds and grasses. I can't explain it. : / It probably has something to do with your high point of view.

Hi Annick
I know it's been quite some time since i've visited your gallery, but today, i had the big pleasure of browsing through photos i've missed and enjoyed all those magical moments that you managed to capture during your South-Africa trip.
This is yet another excellent shot, with this adorable little elephant that actually seems lost :( Good for him, he/she found hiw mummy and was happy again :)
Very good side POV to capture the allert motion of this baby. The sharpness on the subject is very good and the texture on the skin is wonderful.
Wonderful work, as usual ;)
Bravo and TFS

Bonsoir Annick
Voici mon animal préféré.
Il est si paisible, et lourdeau à la fois.
Merci pour ces belles photos d'Afrique du sud
Laurent
