I have seen the W. African subspecies in Gambia but that was long before I became digital!

It even seems small, just by looking at the picture :)
Still, i think the timing here is exceptional and also the side POV is great!
The details are superb as usual, while the shallow DOF - "an old favorite of mine" - worked excellently again.
Great compo and spot-on exposure, too.

This is certainly a different Bee Eater from the one I have shot in India recently, Annick.
It has a lovely patch of colour on the neck and other brighter colours.
The image is excellent in all respects.
