Annick, Beautiful picture of Magpie Shrike. The texture of has come out well despite having a black body. Very good pose by the bird. The catch light in the eyes is making the picture look even better.

well done and TFS

wow!!!!!!!!!!!! amazing capture of an amazing bird, greetings Ori

That tail is absolutely amazing and your photo showcases it to great advantage. I can't imagine how that little guy maneuvers with it. Great work. I hope you are planning to put together a book of your safari images even if it is just for yourself and family.

Hi Annick
Superb capture of what we locally know as the African Long-tailed Shrike. I tried so much to obtain a photo of this bird but they would not settle long enough for me to capture. You have managed to capture it in the most typical of poses, on top of a branch.TFS.

Hallo annick,

groet Gert

Hi Annick, first time I've seen one of these, that is quite the tail on this guy. The composition is interesting. You had to give him lots of room for that tail, yet you've still given him room up front to move. Finding him on the leafless brush works quite well in allowing us to see him completely without competing foliage. Depth of field is good, you've nicely muted the background from the bird, and finally looking at the bird himself, you've given us an excellent sharp view, with great overall detail.

Thanks, John

Hi Annick

Now that is a huge tail!!! :o))
I can only assume that it's really difficult for this bird to keep its balance on a really windy day :o))

Yet, you photograph here is again amazing, taken from a very good side POV - excellent for the special feature of this species.
The details are again impeccable and i also love the strong contrast here between the magpie and the BG.
Very well done, my friend!

Bravo and TFS

Well, this is like a textbook representation of this fine looking bird Annick, the bird's perching stance is perfect, so are your POV and focus, combined with that nicely OOF BG, the result is exquisite. TFS indeed my friend!

Hallo Annick,
Dit is weer zo'n fantastische topper. Behalve het perfecte beeld van de Eksterklauwier maken de gekleurde blaadjes dit tot een erg levende foto. Perfecte achtergrond.

Hi Annick,

Very good pose and POV for this lo-o-ong-tailed bird, perfect BG. Very well done! Thank you,

Hi Annick,

Hello Annick,
Wow! That is one impressive tail!
Seldom to see a tail more than 2 times the body length...
A fine composition, showing the characteristics of the bird well!

Hi Annick,

This is another great shot with great detail and an unisual composition, which works very effectively here. The bird really stands out against the wonderfully soft background.
