Well Friends, here is the Plover that almost drowned itself. This is the same Plover than previously posted. The difference - this one is actually looking at the camera.I cropped this one like this, because of the reflection of the legs out of the water.
Enjoy the photo
All the Best

Some info on the bird:
Very common small plover, identified by the two black breastbands, seperated by n white bar.Well camouflaged in spite of the bright colours. Found commonly on the shorelines of inland waters, less often on the seashore.
Runs with jerky movements.
Nests on exposed flats.
Breeding mainly April to January in South Africa.

Hi Jan,
Beautiful capture of this plover. Light, exposure control, focus, sharpness, details, colors, clarity and POV are very good. Well done and TFS

Hi Jan,

Fantastic photo.Good sharpnes, splendid capture with excellent details.

Hi Jan,

I really do enjoy this photo.......and how!!!
This is a great close-up shot of superb quality.
Perfect composition, sharpness and exposure due to wich the feather details, even the white ones, are wonderfully visible.
Also love the color contrast, the way the Plover does stand out against the BG and clarity of the image very much.
Excellent work. TFS!!!

Best regards, Harry

Hi Jan,
Congrats on this fantastic photo. Very sharp, great colors and fine pose of the bird. My compliments.

Hi Jan,
a very nice picture with lovey colours and lighting.
The sharpness and exposure are great, all details like the beautiful eye are well seen. But IMO the composition could have been a bit better; now the legs are cut off, even if the legs a hidden it's always good to give the space so the viewer can imagination the legs, it's the same for a animal in long grass, otherwise it' a great picture.
Great work.

Hi jan,
Beautiful picture of the bird, with fabulous colors and sharpness. The composition looks slightly tight, little more space at the foot would have been better, i think so. TFS,

Hello, Jan.
A warm welcome to TN.
This is a fantastic close-up with very sharp details.
The light and colors are wonderful.
Love that orange ring around the eye.
It sort of bothers me that you cropped out where his legs would have gone.
Even though they are not showing (because they are underwater), the cropping so close to the belly makes it look truncated and unnatural.
Just my opinion.
A really beautiful portrait of this plover.
TFS. : )

great light,

Hello Jan,

Excellent sharp close-up of this plover. Wonderful light and colours.

This is a great sharp image with fantastic color. That eye is just amazing. I do agree with ManYee's comment about the close crop on the bottom. The bird though is wonderful.

A belated welcome to TN. I enjoy your sharpness that is especially good on this pic. The composition is one that I like and find the DOF, Clear BG, detail and clarity of the subject excellent! I also posted a 3 Banded Plover before, so have a look and let me know what you think of mine! Where in the N Cape is this?
