Why do they call this bird a Weaver? You can see this
here.
They could be called architects. Not so long ago this 'birder' thought there's was some human help involved.

ISO400. Monopod, IS on. PP in Lightroom and CS3.

I didn't find a lot of data concerning this specific Weaver.

Hello Annick,
Very beautiful image of this Red-headed Weaver (Scharlakenrode Wever). Strange is the orange colour. The males are mostly deep red, the females haven't red at all. As always an excellent photo in every way.

Hello Annick,
This must be one of the most beautiful of the Weavers! Brilliant capture of it in a lovely pose from a fine POV. Great DOF, excellent sharpness and beautiful colours. I like its perch on the Acacia twigs too and the contrasting background. Lovely shot!
