I didn't spot this one during my 20 photographing days in Kruger.
I didn't take off immediately, I see.

Lucky you - I didn't get to see an Eland in Africa. Beautiful portrait with marvelous details. Are those spots on him ticks?

I have so little space on my computer for shooting RAW..that is because I NEVER throw away a picture..I have a 60 gig IPOD, a 250 gig drive and a 150 gig drive and I almost full..Can you tell me the advantage..lets say in this image, of shooting RAW first?

Reading your story about how hard it is to get a decent shot of the Eland Antilope, you've done a great job and were very persistent.
It's a wonderful close-up image at which the Eland does'nt seem to be skittish at all.
More like a relaxed way of posing, but that mistakes I presume.
Beautiful shot and thanks to you we now all know what this lovely animal looks like.
Great work. TFS!!!
Best regards, Harry

All the years of waiting paid off well, and you can be very proud of this portrait. This is a great photograph captured in fine style. A top of the range portrait of this eland. This animal surely has a set of lovely and beautifully shaped horns, and I do like the slight curl in them. They look like natural sculptures. What a stare! It really has eye contact with you. Nice pose and composition. Very good detail on the big ears, eyes and not to forget the ticks. Thanks for sharing, and have an enjoyable day.
