The is another magnificent shot of this bright coloured KingFisher. He is a handsome bird. He does look out of proportion though with his very long beak. Fantastic capture Callie. Thank you!

You have birds which make me dream! I began the animal photo because of you and I am very satisfied. Your bird is magnificent with incredible colours. The definition is excellent, I see very well feathers and always this white point in the eye... Beautiful composition!

Looks to dazzeling to be true, but some of our kingfishers are equally bright. Your so lucky to have these hides where you can go and shoot. As I've said before, bird hides in Australia are hopelessly designed.
I'd be interested if you could post a shot of one of your hides sometime, perhaps as a workshop to one these amazing portraits. TFS

Hallo Callie
Kingfishers will always remain my favourite bird. This is an excellent photo of a Malachite, and most appropriate to dedicate to a special person like Gert. I remember my first posting on Trek Nature also being a Kingfisher and a dedication to my husband Loot. Splendid photography. Every little detail is just excellent. From the feathers on this beauty's head, right down to the paws clutching onto the branch. It is amazing how bright the paws and that lovely beak are. This is quite outstanding and one of the best Malachite shots I've seen. I love the pose of the bird, details are razor sharp and colours wonderful. A fine composition and the frame fit very nicely. A swanky little bird. Thanks for sharing.
