[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Although the term tree squirrel can refer to any arboreal member of the family Sciuridae, it is generally in reference to the common and widely distributed members of the genus Sciurus and close kin, the tribe Sciurini. These genera contain most of the common, bushy-tailed squirrels in North America, Europe, temperate Asia, and South America. The tree squirrels are close relatives of the flying squirrels.
They generally spend little time on the ground, preferring the heights of the forest canopy.

Ha Annick,

Wat een BEAUTY
Uitstekende plaat van dit mannetje
Fantastisch lichtje in het oog en een mooie pose

This is another sharp, well executed image. This fellow seems a bit thin and not as bushy tailed as I am used to seeing here. I like the pose the the placement of the subject within the frame. I see the same lovely soft greens that are present in so many of your shots. I'm curious re: the OOF left corner as it seems to be in the same focal plane as the rest of the image. Was it some closer grass or something????

Hi Annick,

A nice capture of this squirrel in a nice pose,it stands very well out against the BG,we have seen this fellows as well quite a lot last weeks, sometimes very funny to watch,in the morning they as well made lots of noise in the trees, first I thought it were birds, but these squirrels have a kind of morning song as well,

Paul

Hi Annick,
A lovely capture of this beautiful tree squirrel in a meerkat pose. Superb details with lovely composition. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Hi Annick
great sharpness and a very nice posture
but I often have the same problem with the compo: impossible to cut the right edge as you have to keep the tail, but there is not enough space on the left, so the squirrel's line of vision is just cut by the frame. If you opt for a landscape format, then the main subject is too much centered. Imho there is only one good option: wait until the squirrel looks to the right
BUT I agree this is theory and real life is definitely more complicated
