Anthomyia

Identification: Small(wingspan 10mm),resembling a slender house fly in build, but with contrasting silvery grey and black stripes across the body. There are 3 species in the region.

Biology: Larvae breed in rotting organic matter.

Habitat: Variety of vegetation types.

I am really intrigued, where you photographed this fly!

In all Books depicting Insects in South Africa - as well as in the rest of the world - Anthomyiidae look very much like the animal in your photo, however none appear to have the bright red eyes but rather brownish eyes and are on “ordinary” looking leaves… e.g.

Except for these discrepancies - your works displays a good photographic technique and is pleasing to view. (A pity - the depth of field is not enough - and the right front leg as well as the right wing are out of focus.)
