Do elephants have knees or elbows?

The joints that are perceived as ‘knees’, are in fact wrists. This is a common misunderstanding due to the belief that a leg joint that bends between the foot and the body must be a knee. The main difference between us and the elephants is that our foot bones and hand bones are separate, whereas those of the elephant are one in the same, and have evolved to suit this four-legged mammal.

This is an amazing scene. I don't think I'll see this in my backyard my friend George :-)
The sky and the trees are already splendid grand vision anchoring the elephant perfectly in the frame. Top class image and thanks for sharing.

Hello George,
For sure this is a great wild animal-picture! Not only the attitude of the elephant is most interesting, but also the atmosphere created by the dry trees and vegetation and the slightly pink sky give to this picture something very special. Bravo!
Kind regards
Anne

Excellent deatil and composition George.

Hello George,
For all the saints ... What I can say about this? ... Looks like a publicity invited to travel to Africa! ... Congratulations ... amazes me the "relevance" of the elephant against the landscape .... Is it some kind of post processing effect? ... Is it HDR? .. Does it only with the camera perhaps? ... Here we see an overwhelming depth, you can almost touch the elephant kneeling on her elbows (or her wrists!)!
Regards,
TFS

Hello George,
I think the most impressive African capture that I've ever seen until now. The clarity of the image, the natural colours of the skin of the elephant and the habitat are great. Excellent composition, outstanding POV and very good focus.
Congratulation!
Marius.

Hello George,
What first strikes me when seeing this is the wonderful light! WHat time of the day did you capture this or is there a storm coming up? A great view of the Elephant too against a wonderful natural background. Very beautiful!

hello George

i think this photo it is one of the most if not
the most beautiful and excellent elephant photo
of TrekNature ! WOW ! you did very well to not
zoom the elephant and like this to have with him
that wonderful tree and also a view of his habitat,

the color tones of the background contribute
to the atmosphere effect of this photo with the
great density and contrast of the color tones,
the elephant is superbly focused with great
sharpness and details, TFS beaucoup

In my opinion this image is photoshopped to the extreme, I would challenge you to display the HONEST original image in a workshop, if you don't I'll understand. It looks artificial to me.

Hello George,
wonderful colour presentation and definitely a special pose and stance from this mighty jumbo.
The dried grass and leafless tree with beautifully distributed branches add beauty to your composition.
The sky too is very pleasant with hues of crimson and grey add offer dramatic sky.
I love it as it depicts and reinforces the mental image of the African style wildlife.

Foozi

Hola George

I love the colors in the entirety of the image and the detailed lighting on the elephant is super. I agree as far as I know probably one of the nicest images of an elephant on TN. Well done George. :)

Fantastic...!!!

I love the look and feel of this picture...!!!
TFS :-)

Hello George,
An extremely pleasing image of a majestic animal and of nature. The differnet huies and how they grade into one another is wonderful and so is the composition. I might have cropped off most of the bit of tree on the very left, what do you think? But excellent as is. Congratulaions. I enjoy looking at it very much.
Neels

Lovely expression on the elephant and good notes too. I liked the POV and the colors and the processing :-) and this picture impressed me for its creativity and thats a trait which i like a lot.

There is nothing wrong with this picture! Well done! I just love it! It would look beautifull if printed on a canvass!

Hi George,
In my opinion a great job - using techniques like Photoshop isn't a crime! Perfect composition and great shallow DoF, special atmosphere - for me the result seems pleasant. Photography is one thing, feeling personal antipathy is another. Shouldn't be mixed as imho some other users did. This is a photographer forum. Thanks for sharing the great image.
Best regards, László
