Black backed jackal

While driving around looking for wildlife we spotted this black backed jackal come trotting towards us in the road.
Without looking left or right it trotted right by us and I managed to get this shot.

jackal are very rare in our place, once 100s walked freely here and there through bushes and open lands. As due to human population growth and irrational policies relating to forest, i feel these species have wiped out here. By seeing this photograph, i remember my younger years when i see these species daily around my home. good composition. congrats for sharing.
