Cleridae can be found in the Americas, Africa, Europe, the Middle East and even in Australia. There are approximately 3,500 species in the world and about 500 species in North America. Due to this wide distribution there are many different habitats in which the checkered beetles can be found.

Hello George,
Been really busy lately and haven't had any time to get on site. I was just viewing some images this evening and ran across this little beauty. I must say this would be a hard one to improve upon since it is practically perfect in every aspect.
Love the way it's body seems to be glowing with a thousand tiny iridescent flecks of color. The detail is simply outstanding along with the exposure. Great work!!!
